Fab hotel with attentive staff in beautiful location

Loved how much in nature it was. Being on a hillside, you see amazing sunrise & sunsets from your balcony. Pool is incredible. Easy access to town.

Being charged because my regular make up didn’t come out of a towel… never had issue before & for quality of towel, charge felt uncomfortable & unnecessary. The steepness of the layout was great for views but deffo a work out to get to higher rooms unless you wait for a buggy cart to drive you. WiFi wasn’t great strength.

Enjoyed it! Very helpful and very lovely.

The pool is great. The staff is helpful. The rooms are spacious and well designed.

The property is built on a hill so it’s tough to move around and the walk is very long and steep.

What was the highlight of Karon Phunaka Resort

Overall the hotel was very clean, staff were very lovely & helpful.

The location to Karon city centre was about 10-15 min by taxi. It’s 1.5 hours from the airport with traffic and 20-25 min from Patong beach. The hotel was clean, staff were super lovely. Loved the buggy’s that pick you up and drop you off to your room/hotel lobby. Pool was amazing, staff at pool bar was attentive and always smiling. During busy periods they needed to put 2 people in the pool bar because the 1 bar attendant was running around making drinks/ordering food/ running down to hotel lobby to assist guest requests and they did an amazing job but needed help.

The breakfast could have been a lot better. There was only 1 milk option I had to purchase another milk alternative from 7-eleven to have cereal. The hot options were all Thai or just very limited and didn’t change daily. Overall I think the breakfast for the price you pay did not match the class of the hotel. Definitely needed to be better. The service at the hotel restaurant was a little bit underwhelming. First of all it was empty we were the only table. So trying to find a staff member at the start to sit down and order was difficult. Once we located a staff member, we quickly realised they were the only ones in the restaurant running food/drinks. At no fault of the staff member they were trying their best but they could have put another staff member on to help considering they had 4 staff all sitting at reception. The food wasn’t what I expected, again I didn’t think it matched the vibe/style that the hotel seemed to be going for. The menu made the food seem more elegant and then once received it did not match what I thought it would be, definitely did not meet my expectations.

Very Good

Tucked away from the hectic center of the city. Free shuttle to/from the beach. Rooms are large with a balcony and a nice view of the city. Nice rooftop pool with bar service. 24/7 golf cart service to get around the resort because it's very steep if you don't want to walk

Booked a single king bed, and they ended up giving us two small beds and couldn't accommodate us. The wife and I had to sleep in separate beds. Staff were very friendly but the language barrier was a bit difficult at times, which normally isn't the case for a resort.

Good for the price

Clean room for acceptable price, nice pool with view to the town and the sea. Kind staff as well.

The elevator didn't work and you had to call a golf car with driver every time you wanted to go up or down. Sometimes I felt it a bit dangerous. The laundry service was expensive compared to other places, unfortunately we spent 2-3 nights only here so we had to accept and use it.

Great views, amazing pool, I loved it

Infinity pool - fabulous and better than expected! Pool bar. Fantastic view from my balcony. Spacious room. Lovely staff, without exception: housekeeping, pool bar, restaurant, front desk, porters/drivers. Very good food in the restaurant. Plenty of beach towels. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a beer, watching the sky change as the sun set- let’s be clear my room could not see the actual sunset, I think you’d need to book specific ones on the end for that, suites maybe, but it didn’t matter, the view is fabulous and you can see all the clouds changing. (Go down to the beach to see it set fully). A good walk down into town (free shuttle was available) and great exercise within the resort with all the stairs - if you chose to use them! I loved the hotel's celebration of Pride.

2 bottles of water felt a bit stingy, especially at 60baht each for extras. No power sockets near the bed.

Still worth the money

Looks like the hotel's best days are past, but it is still looking good due to its location. Infinity view pool, sea view room, buggy to the top level rooms, transfer to the beach, good staff reminds of past luxury.

Low wifi connection at the top level rooms, just for texting, not more. Buggy won't drive to the top if it's a rainy day, I would recommend asking for a room near the pool, not at the very top.

I liked it a lot! Good food, room, and pool!!

we weren't a huge fan of the location as it's a very quiet neighborhood between the Main Street and the resort, It felt a little unsafe at night for us to walk back so we weren't comfortable leaving.

Very relaxed stay with very friendly staff

The location is a little bit uphill so maybe not easyJet to access for older or disabled people but they have avshuttle bus who operates till 5 pm. The location Gibraltar a beautiful view especially from the swimming with a nice operating happy hour. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast we didnt had but I think it is a little bit small. Further the hotels nerds here and there a little renovation but in generaal it is really a nice place to stay

Nice hotel for the price, good location

Great location, right next to the Muy Tai stadium (worth a visit), quiet but not far from the beach. Upgraded rooms are spacious.

Maintenance could be a little better. In my shower, there were screws installed where the tap handles had fallen off. Not a big deal, but not ideal.
